Its Big and Its Back - The Oversized Trend

Not too long ago, women around the world swooned for body conscious clothing - garments that looked less like clothing and more like a second skin. But things have changed in recent years. Those at the forefront of style and the fashion world have ushered in a new era, where skin tight is out and comfortably loose is in.

Both established brands and emerging designer alike have re-introduced the idea of voluminous dressing. Designers are no longer obsessing over tight fitting garments the way they used to a few years ago. The modern woman can now look “comfy” and feel comfortable doing it. Over the course of a few seasons fashion has drastically changed its views, a thruway split consisting of ultra feminine, minimalistic luxury, and oversized dressing. Each major fashion house has since incorporated these trend into their seasonal collections, using major traits to create beautiful impressing collections.

The oversized trend has traveled down from the Paris and Milan runways to everyday urban living. Major pieces to create the perfect oversized wardrobe include heavy floor length wool coats, voluminous fur and faux fur coats, capes, silk blouses, and airy fabrics; the best way to wear oversized garments are to layer them smartly or wear one or two pieces on their own to avoid looking to fluffy.
